The Wifi Reaches

The true story of Tom, as told by Meg

Illustration of a father in the passenger seat of a pickup while his teenage daughter drives

You taught me to drive in the Kroger parking lot. Sundays, in your old '88 Ford Ranger. It was stick. The first day, I stalled it about eleven times. Every time, you said one word. Again.

Illustration of a father in work boots sitting in the bleachers at a swim meet

You worked nights at the plant my whole childhood. You still came to every swim meet. Straight from work, in your boots. One time you fell asleep sitting up in the bleachers. You woke up exactly when my race started.

Illustration of a father waiting in a cleared-out garage room as his daughter comes home

You had already cleared out the garage room. You had put a desk in it. You never said one word about it. You just said, “The wifi reaches.”

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us what you remember

A few questions about them and one photo. About three minutes, and you can talk instead of type.

  2. 2

    See it first, free

We write their story and paint them into it. Read the cover and first pages before you pay.

  3. 3

    Keep it forever

Read every page and ask for changes if anything is off. Once you approve it, we print the hardcover.

Still with us, or remembering them

Still with us

Give it while they can read it. Their first job, how you met, the thing they always say. Watch them find their own life on the page, painted in their likeness.

Remembering them

For someone you miss. Pick “In memory” and we write it to them, about the life they lived. A book the whole family can read aloud, and keep.

Questions

Can I make one for someone who has passed away?

Yes. Pick “In memory” when we ask what the book is for. We write it to them, warmly, about the life they lived. We never describe an illness or a death unless you tell us to.

What if I don't remember much?

A few small things are enough: something they always said, a place, a habit. We ask simple questions with examples, and you can add more after you order.

Do they have to write or record anything?

No. You answer the questions and we write the book. Nobody else has to do a thing, so it works even as a surprise.

Can I change things before it prints?

Yes. You read the whole finished book first and can ask for changes twice. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

How long does the hardcover take?

Standard shipping takes about 3 weeks in the US, and Rush takes 2 to 3. The digital copy is yours the moment you approve the book, so you always have something to give on the day.

Are the illustrations made with AI?

Yes. AI helps us paint them in a classic picture-book style from your photo. The story comes from your real memories, and a person on our team reads every book before you see it.

Before it's forgotten.

Their story, kept in a book the whole family can hold.
